Justin Limoges and I presented a performance in three acts. Using a pair of Super8 projectors and a handful of props we set out to explore a house and the surrounding land. From there everyone made some popcorn together while they looked at the handshake, how it lives and what it can grow into.
Over the course of the evening, through our words and gestures, we investigated things that are similar but not the same, namely: copies, clones, counterfeits, decoys, doubles and doppelgängers, fakes, forgeries, the odd instant replay, and one very special overlay.
Handshake / Mandrake was part of the Southern Machine Exposure Project performance series.
