Hi Friends,Today, I will share my experience of pre closure of my personal loan with HDFC BANK.I called up the customer care which is a challenging task itself as you are connected with IVR and really struggle to speak to the phone banker. At last I connected to the phone banker and shared my request for loan pre closure. A link was shared with me to make the payment of an outstanding amount.I followed the link and the full n final amount got populated. I made an online payment and my savings account got debited immediately. Very Next day, HDFC BANK debited an additional EMI in addition to the outstanding amount paid by me. And it was not told to me by the phone banker while sharing the link. I was keeping the minimum required balance as I already settled my loan the previous day. but a force debit was made and balance in my account was made to Zero. When I called the customer care, I was told by team leader Rohit from Chandigarh that I would receive my money back post closure of the loan amount. Today, when all banks are using the cutting edge technology and reduced TAT for the financial transactions to a few minutes or hours, HDFC Bank takes 4-5 days to close the loan where payment has been made online (Digitally). Today is the 6th day and I haven't got my funds in my account which HDFC debited in surplus. It's really strange that despite my loan closure, surplus funds are lying with HDFC BANK. It shows the following:1. Either the books are not reconciled or take days to be reconciled.2. The bank doesn't care about the customer's money keeping those funds in a common pool & using them for days.3. Despite so many calls made to the contact centre, nothing has moved. Service levels are pathetic and not answerable to the customers for force debit. If I have paid the amount before my EMI then additional funds shouldn't have been debited. if debited then must have been refunded as of now. Today I was on call with the contact centre for 30 minutes, and no outcome.I am writing this message as I was left with no other option.#hdfc #iba #banks #rbi #ombudsman

as per the new guidelines of RBI any excess money of borrower lying with bank or nbfc is eligible for interest. and institutions should pay interest on that excess part. further you can register a complaint with regulators too, and ask for money as well as interest.

In fact most of the banks are not equipped and technological sound regarding any loan closure. They would require atleast 4-5 days to settle your loan amount and thereafter atleast 30-45 days to issue NOC.

If any extra emi deducted it will be credited within 7 days. Further NOC takes 45 days but usually they give within 10-15 days. Many of the banks are still not equipped with this service as compared to HDFC.

This picture was taken at the Thai Airways check-in counter at IGI Airport Delhi.Actually yesterday, my daughter was travelling from Delhi To Sydney on Thai Airways. The flight was to depart at 12:20 am in the morning today. So, she managed to get there by 5:30 pm yesterday. She asked for the check-in timings and she was told that check-in counter would open (4) hours prior to the scheduled departure. She took a seat and started waiting for the check-in counter to be opened. She joined the queue approximately around 8:10pm and looking for her turn to come. But suddenly, a group of people overpassed her and rest of the passengers standing in the queue for their turn to come. My daughter and other passengers standing in the queue were kept on waiting for more than 2 hours by Thai Airways to clear this unmanaged traffic at the check-in counter. She was hungry and wanted something to eat but couldn't leave the queue. She had to go to the restroom but she was helpless. At the same time, my wife called her to know about her well being as she was travelling alone. And she got highly disturbed, when she came to know that her daughter couldn't had some thing and even can't go to restrooms as she was stuck due to poor administration at the check-in counter of Thai Airways. When my wife was narrating her situation to me, I could see and feel her being helpless for her daughter. I couldn't resist myself and called at the following numbers to get some help, but it was of no use.011 6123 8974 - Thai Airways (Airport)0124 479 7300 - Air Suvidha (IGI Airport)011 2463 2950 - Air Authority of IndiaI will be highly obliged if Thai Airways, IGIA Authorities, Air Authority of India could answer to my simple questions:1. Do we have a set guidelines and processes in place to control such unmanaged rush?2. How could Thai Airways give preference to such unmanaged group of people over other passengers standing in the queue?3. Why couldn't AAI and IGIA authorities stop this? Don't we have a team to keep an eye and control such situations at IGIA? 4. What action will AAI and IGIA authorities are going to initiate against Thai Airways?Being a Father, I can't accept the harassments and inconvenience caused to my daughter yesterday at IGIA.#thaiairways #igiairport #airauthorityofindia #pmoindia Thai Airways International
